Maria KaliMa, RN, MS, e-RYT 500, Structural Yoga Therapist

Maria KaliMa is a Registered Nurse with a background in Women’s Health and Physical Rehabilitation.  Maria teaches at several Tucson studios, has a private yoga therapy and ayurveda practice and is also an invited guest instructor for numerous yoga conferences and gatherings.  Maria teaches anatomy and physiology and anatomy of movement for yoga teacher training programs, as well as advanced therapeutic yoga concepts.  She was instrumental in the creation of a yoga therapeutics department at Canyon Ranch.  Maria’s hobbies are pottery, bike riding and knitting.

Maria will be offering the following workshops:

Yoga Psychology for the Ayurvedic Doshas - an insightful and experiential learning format:  utilizing self assessment, mudras, mantra and movement to explore the qualities and imbalances of each dosha.  Thru this exploration we will create our individual roadmaps of self-discovery to promote our doshic balancing.

Functional Yoga Therapy:  Exploration of the self thru the concept of body reading, postural analysis and the deeper meaning of darshan in relationship to holding space for your client.  Utilizing concepts of kinesiology, emotional anatomy, structural and integrative therapies, this experiential learning experience will create deeper understanding of body-mind-spirit through yoga.

Joan Ruvinsky

In 1989, after 13 years of attempts at path-finding, Joan Ruvinsky met Jean Klein (http://www.nonduality.com/klein.htm), who, having never taken himself to be a teacher, eliminated the need to be a student, to have a path, a method or a goal. At home in these non-dual wisdom teachings, Joan shares body-sensing yoga, conversation and presence at her center Pathless Yoga- La voie sans voie in Montreal and at retreats and workshops in other states and provinces. She has the regular approbations from Integral Yoga, Integrative Yoga Therapy, Yoga Alliance RYT500 and iRest Yoga Nidra, leads seminars on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, and is on the Council of Stewards of the Center of Timeless Being.

Joan will be offering practice in body sensing, yoga nidra, chanting, and meditation.  She also offers individual nondual counseling sessions.  Here is how Joan describes her work:  In both group and in individual sessions, we listen together to what is arising from the larger perspective of pure awareness. The practices of pranayama, kriya, body-sensing and chanting become simply a pretext to refer us back to their source.

Rose Kress is certified at the 250 hour level as a Yoga Teacher and is a LifeForce Yoga® Practitioner. Rose is the Program Manager of the LifeForce Yoga® Healing Institute and serves the Arizona Yoga Association as a board member and former president.

Jennifer Louden

Jennifer is a bestselling author of The Woman's Comfort Book and five others, including her newest, The Life Organizer. She's an ontologically trained coach and a monthly columnist for Body+Soul magazine. Her work has been featured in dozens of magazines, including US Today, O Magazine, Yoga Journal and her media appearances include “Oprah.” Share a cup of virtual tea with Jen at www.comfortqueen.com.

The Woman’s Comfort Evening

In 1992, after her realization that she had no idea how to take care of herself and after struggling with depression since the age of 12, Jennifer Louden surrendered to the call to learn how to take care of herself in the deepest sense of the word. In that moment, the title for her first book, The Woman's Comfort Book, popped into her head. Little did she know her life's work had arrived: to teach and learn how to help people to nurture themselves so they can realize their true nature. Jen's experiential evening workshop will draw on journaling, laughter, small group discussion, and who knows what else to help us conceive of self-care and self-nurturing in the light of being one with the Divine and each other, while creating practices that can sustain the changes in our brains and bodies that allow us to feel whole.
