“Hearing Voices” Listening to a character from a different time and culture.

Temple Dancer was 26 years of true listening and false starts. Amy Weintraub MFA, C-IAYT, Yoga teacher, trainer and writing instructor, known well for her nonfiction books, Yoga for Depression (Harmony Books) and Yoga Skills for Therapists (W.W. Norton) was a many-times rejected fiction writer suffering from depression before she found yoga.

Amy will talk about the differences she finds in mining psycho-emotional truths in the writing of fiction and the writing of nonfiction, as well as the differences in the publication process. As the title of her talk implies, she will also discuss issues related to point of view.

There will also be live Q & A.

The Tucson Chapter of the National Writers Union, an AFL-CIO union for free-lance writers, has a monthly program featuring a local author, followed by an open mic for attendees to read from their work. The program runs on Zoom the third Monday of each month at 6pm MST.
